For the frustrated serious suitor
The pain of rejection proves hard to bear
‘Cause when he commits, he’s blind to all else
No other pair of legs can sway his vision

#duodacy1: The Choice and the Elimimates

He had always known what he wanted in his girl
All the physical endowments and/or fixtures
Yet, so many ladies he knows fit; a hard haul
Faced with choices, he eliminates at leisure
“I can’t live with more than one at a time”
“Does he want to date five girls at a go?”
“None is perfect, I’ll choose one with least grime”
“He doesn’t know what he wants, he’s too slow”

My friend, do not raise your standard too high
Love is not a game, but play your cards well
Pray do not choose that lady just by sight
Know her by heart, and as your spirit tell

#duodacy2: The Lover Boy

The serious man chooses with surety his soul mate
He’d never go to the ‘crushes’ no matter what
He had just made his choice, others become second rate
Problem now is if she would accept him or not
“Will you be the one that holds my love dear?”
“I’m sorry, but I like you as a friend”
“Please girl, but I can’t love any other”
“But there are so many girls out there, friend”

My brother, give it time, keep on pecking at her
That’s just the first time, don’t worry; she’ll come around
You made the ultimate choice by going for her
But you must not relent now, she is the real deal

#duodacy3: The vast emptiness

Long run, girl does not accept the offered affair
But gentleman won’t fall back on no former crush
Prefers to retire in defeat to a lair
He counts those as second rate, leaves them in the lurch
“Wish I hadn’t chosen her in the first place”
“Will this guy just for once -at least- look at me?”
“I won’t have a rebound to last me my days”
“But the girl he fancies says to let her be”

Young lover, I do applaud your tenets
But I don’t think you should rot in that shell
Free your heart and be free to love again
And learn to respect other people’s love

Yet most will go and amass other crushes
And get to choose one they get to hold on to
Discarding the others when the one says Yes
Or plunge into a new gloom of pain if No
The cycle repeating until they find ‘Her’
They are just too nice to accept “second rate”
One which they will not be truly happy with
So, is it pride or they are being considerate?

  1. I’ve been surfing online more than 3 hours today, yet I never found any interesting article like yours.
It is pretty worth enough for me. In my view, if
all webmasters and bloggers made good content as you did, the net
will be a lot more useful than ever before.
